iPad check
A throwaway test page. It checks what this iPad can do before the real app is built. Nothing leaves the iPad unless you tap Share at the bottom.
This iPad
Checking…
1. Speech recognition: does it cut the speaker off?
Test A (the helper does it): tap Start, then say slowly: "One." wait 3 seconds "Two." wait 6 seconds "Three." wait 10 seconds "Four." Then tap Done.
Test B (the app's user does it): tap Start, and ask them to describe their breakfast, at their own pace. Tap Done when they've finished.
Run each test in both modes. "Plain" is what the browser does by itself. "Keep listening" restarts the microphone whenever the browser stops it.
Not started
Did it stop listening before the speaker finished?
Were the words mostly right?
2. Recording: the backup if speech recognition fails
Tap Record, have the app's user say a sentence, tap Stop, then play it back. Pauses don't matter here: it records until you stop.
Does the recording sound clear?
3. The app's voice: is it easy to follow?
Could they understand it?
4. Reminders: do notifications reach the iPad?
-
Then share the address with whoever is running this test, close this app and lock the iPad. They send a test reminder from their computer.
Did the test reminder arrive while the app was closed?
